Product introduction:

TESS CHEERSTM plum wine, from TOA Co., Ltd., Yuasa Town, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan,

imported in original bottles.

Plum wine, also known as plum wine, is a kind of soaked wine made by soaking fresh plums

or dried plums in base wine for a long time.

High-quality plum wine has a sweet and soft fruity aroma and the mellow aroma of base

wine. The taste blends into one, and you will feel relaxed and happy after drinking it.

In China, according to the "Records of the Three Kingdoms":

In the 5th year of Jian'an (200 AD), Liu Bei "learned gardening in Xutian as a strategy to

hide his true intentions."

Cao Cao invited Liu Bei to discuss heroes in the world with green plum wine.

Green plum wine and the allusion of "discussing heroes over green plum wine"

were thus seen in history books.

In Japan, plums were brought back by the Tang envoys and were made into

pickled plums in the Heian period (794-1192 AD), and were widely used in the Kamakura

period (1185-1333 AD).

The earliest record of plum wine was in the "Honcho Food Guide" in the eighth year of

Genroku (1695 AD). In the Edo period, with the joint efforts of the Kishu domain

lord Tokugawa Yorifusa the Tanabe domain lord Ando Taito, the local "YABU plum" was

improved, and the "Kishu Tanabe-produced" pickled plums became famous in Edo Town.

In the 35th year of the Meiji era (1902), Takada Sadakusu,

the head of Motokami Nanbu Village, first created the "Nanko" brand of pickled plums.

To this day, the "Kishu Tanabe" area (now Nanbu Town, Hidaka County,

Wakayama Prefecture) has become the area with the highest plum production in Japan.

The Wakayama area alone accounts for more than 60% of Japan's total production.

Among them, the most representative is Nanko plum, which is known as the "highest brand"

 and "treasure of southern Kishu".

There are many manufacturing processes for plum wine. Among them, the process of

soaking plums in base wine for a long time and letting the flavor of plums precipitate

through alcohol is called "honkaku plum wine".

In Japanese, "ほんかく" (translated as "honkaku" in Chinese) means "traditional, classic".

Honkaku plum wine is a fine wine brewed with traditional brewing techniques and

pure raw materials, which is different from wine made by non-traditional techniques

such as plum juice blending and plum essence flavoring.

In the early stage, after the introduction and recommendation of Japanese partners,

and after Tess (Ms. Ran Lingyan) and Tess team members visited Japan many times.

Finally, TOA Co., Ltd. in Yuasa Town, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan was selected as

the plum wine supplier.

On the one hand, the family that runs the company is one of the earliest family workshops

engaged in the plum products industry in the local area, and has been passed down for

hundreds of years. In addition, the new processing plant built by TOA Co., Ltd. in 2019

introduced modern equipment, and is at the forefront of the Wakayama region

in terms of environmental control and hygiene levels.

On the other hand, after tasting dozens of (domestic and foreign) samples,

the company's plum wine samples have received unanimous praise in the blind tastings of

guests/members at many Tess Foreign Trade Club offline gatherings.

After the new plum wine this year (2024) was brewed, before filling,

Tess personally went to TOA Co., Ltd. in Yuasa Town, Wakayama Prefecture,

Japan to inspect the goods, and personally followed up the entire process of filling,

disinfection, cooling, labeling, and packing on the production line.

Storage and Transportation Guide:

TESS CHEERS plum wine can be stored for a long time under suitable objective conditions.

This product has an alcohol content of more than 10%25, and according to the law, it is not necessary

to mark the shelf life. However, this product is not designed for the purpose of storing vintage wine

in bottles, and long-term storage is not recommended.

It is recommended to store it at room temperature at home, away from light as much as possible,

and it can generally be stored for 1-5 years; if the home or commercial place is equipped with a

constant temperature wine cabinet, it can generally be stored for 3-10 years; if the professional wine

cellar has the best conditions, it can be stored for up to 10-15 years.

* Because this product uses a knob-type bottle cap instead of a cork, long-term storage needs to

consider the natural volatilization of alcohol (commonly known as "running wine").

If you really want to store it for a long time, you can consider wax sealing.

Although the base wine of this product is grain distilled wine, it has fully absorbed the fruity aroma

and flavor of Nanko plum during the soaking and brewing process; long-term storage will not obtain

a better taste.

The best storage conditions are: temperature 8℃-25℃ (constant temperature all year round),

humidity 75%25-80%25, light-proof and ventilated environment

During transportation, the maximum temperature is recommended not to exceed 22℃.

Long-term storage and transportation at higher temperatures may cause taste changes.

*For plum wine after opening, it is recommended to drink it as soon as possible within 1-3 days

to ensure its quality and taste. During storage, it should be avoided from contact with air.

The opening can be sealed and placed in the refrigerator. After opening, plum wine is exposed to

the air for a long time, which is easy to breed bacteria and oxidation, leading to deterioration,

thereby shortening the shelf life. If the taste is found to have obvious changes,

it means that it may have deteriorated, so do not continue to use it.

Drinking suggestions:

TESS CHEERS plum wine is packaged in glass bottles + metal screw caps,

and no bottle opening tools are required; after opening the bottle,

there is no need to decant or sober up.

TESS CHEERS plum wine uses Nanko plums produced in the current year (2024),

soaked and brewed in grain distilled liquor, and has a mixture of fruit and wine flavors.

It is recommended to drink it after refrigeration (not frozen in bottles), and the taste will be even better.

According to public information, the most typical way to drink plum wine is to drink it directly

without additives; in Japanese izakayas, adding soda water to plum wine is a more common

way to drink it; in Japan, other ways to drink plum wine include but are not limited to adding

ice cubes, lemon juice, tea, etc.; in addition, there are also more niche drinking methods

uch as adding ice cream in summer and adding hot water in winter.

TESS CHEERS plum wine is characterized by its rich plum fragrance and strong layering.

The manufacturer of this product strongly recommends drinking it directly without additives.

In the early tests and blind tastings, participants generally believed that drinking

TESS CHEERS plum wine directly without additives can taste the best taste!

Plum wine has a wide range of choices for food pairing.

Due to its sweet and sour taste and unique aroma, plum wine can well enhance the taste and

flavor of food. You can try pairing plum wine with barbecue, grilled fish, seafood, etc.,

so that the sweet and sour taste of plum wine and the delicious taste of food complement

each other, creating a unique delicious experience.
